James (Jim) Moos

President, Technology, Commercial & Industrial Sector; Interim President, Government and Communities

Jim Moos is the President of the Technology, Commercial and Industrial market sector, which provides a wide range of planning, program management, engineering and construction services with a focus on communications infrastructure, distributed infrastructure, commercial enterprises and industrial manufacturing clients. Jim also serves as interim leader of the Governments and Communities sector, which focuses on serving the needs of government clients at the federal and state level, as well as public agencies and utilities at the municipal level.

Jim joined Black & Veatch in July of 2024 with more than 30 years of experience and proven success in businesses across engineering, security, infrastructure and digital sectors, driving top- and bottom-line growth. Most recently, he served as group president of the Civil Group at Leidos, Inc., where he had also served as senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Jim was also with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program. He earned a Master of Science in industrial hygiene from the University of Central Missouri, a Bachelor of Science in applied science and technology, radiation protection from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
