Africa

It is more than half of a century since Black & Veatch delivered its first African power project. Our work since has spanned the continent from Algeria and Egypt in the north to Namibia and South Africa in the south, and from Nigeria across to Kenya.

Africa

We are an employee-owned engineering, procurement, consulting and construction company with a legacy of more than a century of innovations in critical infrastructure. Since the 1960s, we have been delivering critical infrastructure projects across Africa.

We work with Africa’s developers, national power companies and independent power producers providing services that add value across every point in the asset lifecycle – resource assessments right through to engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) delivery. We also are supporting global businesses investing in African countries. As African nations seek to decarbonize, we are moving the focus of our work from conventional generation to solar and wind projects — delivering our first African wind-power project, in South Africa, more than a decade ago.

Whether renewable or conventional, our projects draw upon world-class expertise from throughout our global business, always tailored to local needs. Where possible we seek to put local contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to work to increase local content, improve employment and progress local capabilities. In addition, we deploy proven training programs that equip the local workforce with technical and other skills for long-term success.
